Mill Valley Philharmonic celebrates the 75th anniversary of the signing of the New Deal by performing the program The Works Progress Administration: Orchestral Music and Art of the 1930s. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt created the WPA at the height of the Great Depression. The program put millions of people to work - from building roads to composing music.
Acclaimed Bay Area actor, Liam Vincent, narrates the concerts, providing WPA history, Depression-era cultural context, and a connection to your community's historical and architectural legacy.
